4 Activities I Enjoy

Whispers of Spring Break are being spoken around like gossip. Kids and teachers are excited to have a week off from classes and parents are starting to panic thinking, “What am I going to do with them for a whole week?”

When I reflect back on my favorite Spring Break activities, the word that sticks out for me is fun!

What did you have fun doing?

My favorite spring break memories

Not surprisingly, I still enjoy many of these today.

  • We had a ginormous tree (at least it was to me at 9 years of age) with a tire swing. Amazing how much fun a kid can have with a tire and rope.
  • Hung out with friends playing games like flashlight tag, Twister, and hide and go seek make my list. Creativity would flow when our parents threw us outside or turned off the TV.
  • Visited Fun Parks like Six Flags or water parks, if it was warm enough. It was a whole day of activity. We always packed a sack lunch to stick in the cooler. (I’m glad our adult supervision had our best interest at heart with food because those vendors can be so tempting.)
  • Took advantage of our local parks that had tennis, swimming, walking trails, kids obstacle course, and more. I still enjoy going to parks with kids or for some me time.

How will you encourage an active Spring Break?
