So, here’s the deal. I’m from Oklahoma. We’re really good at football, and we’ve won Miss America 5 times. But this week, I’m in Los Angeles, California. What’s funny is that even though I’m in another state, I still feel like I’m home. That’s because my family is here with me. In fact, 19 of us are hanging out in the Golden State. So even though I left what I’m used to, I can still enjoy a feeling of security. Change can be approached in a similar manner. Journeying into unfamiliar territory is often a scary thing. So don’t go alone. Try to think of people in your life who could join you in your journey to lose weight and gain greater health. Maybe you could team up with them and go through Full Plate’s group weight loss curriculum together. You might also want to connect with people who have already lost weight successfully. The team you form can encourage you and help you get back in the saddle after you make mistakes. There really is strength in numbers -- unless you’re walking a tightrope, in which case you might want to go it alone. ☺
By the way, did you guys see Nik Wallenda walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope? Crazy stuff.
