Breakfast at the Grocery Store

I recently traveled with a couple girlfriends for a women’s retreat. We woke up energized and hungry. The hotel’s breakfast was not very impressive, so we decided on the Starbucks next door. We knew we could get our hands on their perfect oatmeal. I was about to pull into the drive when a whole new breakfast idea hit me. We have a brand new Whole Foods just a mile down the street, and I knew they had a hot bar and breakfast foods for anyone’s diet. Off we went!

The oatmeal hot bar was awesome! I filled my cup and loaded it down with pecans and dried cranberries. Next I ventured over to the produce department for some ready to eat fruit. This mixture of blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, blackberries, and raspberries was absolutely delicious. (Sorry I’d already eaten most of the raspberries before taking this picture) I also added most of the blueberries to my oatmeal to sweeten it up. I’d estimate at least 18g of fiber in this whole meal. Now that’s a Full Plate Diet breakfast! Next time you’re traveling in the big city, don’t rule out using a grocery store as a great on-the-go tool for you at breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
