How Mike Changed the Full Plate Diet and Lost 50 Pounds

Mike attempted to put everything he learned from Full Plate Living into rigorous practice and got great results, at least initially. He lost over 50 pounds. But parts of what he learned were not working.

One of the things he learned was to eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and supper like a pauper. This was a problem for Mike. His family enjoyed a large supper. He would sit there feeling deprived as he ate his meager meal.

Eventually he caved in and started eating a large supper. The weight started going back on. Finally he thought to himself, “I’ve got to work this my way.” He came up with the following plan:

  • When he was traveling (which he did quite a bit) he would eat two meals a day: a late breakfast and then supper
  • When at home he would eat a small breakfast and lunch and enjoy a big supper
  • Twice a month Mike did a 24-hour fast

The results: Mike has kept more the 50 pounds off for six years and counting.

The takeaway: No matter how great something works for somebody else, don’t be afraid to modify or change it to make it work for you.
