Well, it’s almost 2013. Just think, in a few days, we’ll get to feel smarter than the ancient Mayans. Won’t that be great?
But the Mayans aren’t the only peeps to mistakenly feel like the world was going to end. Sometimes we think the world’s ending after we make mistakes – particularly with our eating. But rather than liquidating our assets and moving to the hill country, what if we tried a different response to failure? As we gear up for another trip around the sun, let’s make a New Year’s resolution – a resolution to learn from failure.
Think about the last time you ate in a way you later regretted. What is ONE THING you could do to keep from making this mistake again?
If you can get in the habit of asking yourself this question, and putting what you learn into practice, imagine the progress you will be able to make. So the next time you feel like the world is ending, just slow down and ask yourself, “What is ONE THING I can do to keep from making this mistake again?” Just like that, and you’ll be back on your way. ☺
Remember Y2K? And now the end of the Mayan calendar…
What an anti-climactic time of year.
