Crockpot BBQ Beans

If you're looking for an easy way to get the flavor and texture of BBQ beans with less fat and sodium, this recipe's perfect for you. Throw it in the crock pot the night before your cookout, and it will be nice and ready to serve before the party gets started.

Ingredients
1 1/4 cup navy beans dry
1 1/4 cup pinto beans dry
1 1/4 cup great northern beans dry
1 gallon water for soaking beans
2 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup molasses
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoon mustard (yellow mustard)
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (skip if vegetarian or vegan)
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Soak beans in 1 gallon of water overnight, then toss the water before placing beans in the crockpot.

Add beans and the remainder of the ingredients to your slow cooker.Cook on high for 8 hours. Salt or pepper to taste before serving.

Tips

Freeze any leftovers for up to 3 months.
