Mangos originated in northeast India, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Mangos reached the US in 1860. Over 50 varieties of mangos can be found ranging in color from greenish, yellow, to reddish with a hint of purple, prink, orange-yellow, or red. The mango tree is a distant relative to the pistachio and cashew tree.
